Knitty Gritty - Errors & Corrections
Dear Knitters,
This is a pretty hard thing to write about. All knitting books and many knitting patterns unfortunately have errors... One reason is that a knitting pattern is almost a technical piece of mathematics: one typo and the whole equation is off. Also there can be inaccuracies in interpretation by the various people who collaborate on a book (as you might know if I've moaned to you about the worrying quality of work from the graphic designers who 'worked' on Knitty Gritty.)
However none of the above is a good enough excuse for your frustration if you find an error when reading the book or knitting a pattern from it. I can honestly say that worries about mistakes has given me many sleepless nights and will probably do so in the future.
I really want to 'be there' for all the people who buy Knitty Gritty and need follow-on help: whether this is due to an error on my part, on the part of anyone who's worked on the book or if you simply have a question about anything in the book. Knitting SOS is here for you! I certainly don't plan to write a book then abandon all the knitters who use it. That is not why I am a knitting teacher! And I'll always be a teacher before a pattern designer.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any comments or questions about Knitty Gritty, and I will do my best to help. All constructive criticism is gratefully accepted. Also, please keep checking this page. If I or anyone else finds an error in Knitty Gritty, I will put the information and amendments on my website.
Thank you,
Aneeta Patel
